Based in Schwyz, Switzerland, the Gigirey Foundation was established in 1903 by Count Isabella Gigirey, an American-Spanish philanthropist interested in globalization, maritime travel, and the occult. The foundation has invested over $US300M in projects aimed at reducing the ideological and emotional distance across all living creatures. Currently, Dr. Isolina Gigirey-Diamond is the executive chairman of the Gigirey Foundation and responsible for overseeing its investment in the Loxodrome research project in collaboration with MIT Media Lab.
